Excursion acquaints with one of the interest places of Brest region - a palace in Коssovo which was constructed in landscape park under the decision К. Puslovsky in 1838. In due course it was unusual, was allocated with originality and elegance of lines. The smart hall on the second floor was painted by artist Zhmurkom. And though wars have not spared a building, the palace was saved and can be restored. Nearby from palace, in natural boundary Merechevshchina, is stone-memorial established in honour Tadeush Kostushko - the general-lieutenant, the head of national-liberation movement in Belarus, Poland, Lithuania, the national hero of Belarus, Poland, USA and the honourable citizen of France. He lived in Switzerland in banishment where has died in 1817. Kostushko's heart is buried in the Royal palace in Warsaw, and the body is buried in the Royal castle in Krakow.
Small town Ruzhany is situated in 140 kms from Brest, belonged certain time to well-known family Sapega on which means were constructed the Trinity catholic church and St. Kazimir church, St. Peter and Paul church and a bazilians monastery. All these temples until now are standing in settlement. But the palace complex which rests were saved was the most well-known. You will see entrance gates with carved heraldic ornaments from exterminating oak. These ornaments in part were saved up to present times, reminding about the former greatness of a palace.
